Well sort of. Erika's team finished up their Spring season in the Salsa tournament in Independence this weeekend. We just had to pick up one of the fun tournament shirts - love the chili peppers shielding themselves from PK's. Her team hung tough against two SLYSA(St. Louis) teams tying one 0-0 and losing 2-1 in a very physical game(these football players wear no padding, and often I think they should, at least on their heads)! The third game they played the 2nd best team in Nebraska, and lost 6-0, but boy was this team fun to watch. They were about the same size as us, which is unusual, we are a pretty small team, but the skill was amazing. Their touch on the ball was impressive and they knew exactly where to be on the field to anticipate the next move. We definitely learned a thing or two, and that is what it is all about.
We arrived back in town just in time to make it to Annika's last league game, which they won 5-0, and Annika scored a goal! She also fouled two players, which is another subject. There is a fine line between going for the ball and fouling, and that is something we are working on! We can't say the kid doesn't hustle, that is for sure.
We are glad that the Spring season is ending and our weekends will return to a slower pace. It has been so neat to see them develop a love for this beautiful game, to see all they are learning about being part of a team and working together while keeping their bodies fit and healthy, and most of all having fun.

That t-shirt is adorable. I wish my kids would have picked some up at the tourney.
I have the opposite problem with my oldest. We're always telling her to go for the yellow card;)
