We volunteered to excercise a friend's dogs while she is vacationing. I haven't spent much time around Great Danes, but have found that Walther truely is a gentle giant, as Danes are often described. I would trust small children around a dog with his disposition over that of many much smaller breeds.
It has been fun pretending to be dog owners - although I think it is a bit like grandchilren, fabulous to have them for a while, but equally fabulous to send back to their parents :)
