At our house in the past few years, we have been gradually replacing our home cleaning products and our personal care products with safer, more natural alternatives. It is true that many personal care products are pricier than their more mainstream counterparts. For us this is offset by choosing not to use a myriad of toxic cleaning products(i.e. Windex, Clorox, Pledge, Ajax and the like). Vinegar, water, lemon juice, and baking soda can be used to replace these cleaners at a fraction of the cost. And most importantly, they are safe.
On a funny note, Dave was happy to find out that his beloved Speedstick deoderant is just as safe as the Tom's of Maine brand deoderant I had bought. He thinks the Tom's brand leaves him smelling a bit, um, "organic".
