The Dog Days of Summer

They are here. I know they are here when the tree insects begin chirping early in the morning. When the yard is no longer green and needs mowing weekly, but slowly turning brown due to dehydration. The forecast is for the heat index to near 100 degrees the next few days. Even the swimming pool only feels refreshing for the first 5 minutes, then your realize it feels like lukewarm bath water. So, what to do? Head for the mountains is the usual plan, and I am so looking forward the Rocky Mountain cool, crisp air. Colorado here we come!
